Out of the Shadows
First novel by Australian author Sue Hines.  Two teenagers struggle to maintain their friendship while hiding secrets they fear will destroy their connection.  Rowanna Preston, whose mother was recently killed by a drunken driver, is living with Deb, her mother’s lover. Jodie Waters, a new      student, is not only in the closet about her sexual identity but also hiding her attraction to Ro. A fascinating book in that one of its main characters must come to terms not only with her feelings about her mother’s sexual identity but her best friend’s as well.
